|Client||Position||Starting date||Playtech||Flash RIA Developer||March 2010|
3+ years experience in developing RIA under Flash / Flex, solid portfolio of completed large-scale projects, international perspective & experience.
Playtech is one of the few companies in Bulgaria developing Rich Internet Applications (RIA) as a stream of its core business. Expanding this team is always a tough assignment as new recruits are usually required to have substantial experience, proven technical skills in this field (Flash, Flex) and a solid portfolio of executed large-scale projects. However, as these technologies are fairly recent, the people using them are often in their twenties, with selfacquired skills and with little or no above-the-line work experience.
This was exactly the case when Playtech briefed us for a new RIA Developer back in Q1 2010. The ideal candidate we started looking for needed to have both solid technical skills in Flash and substantial experience working in an international environment.
We started off with putting together a thorough research of all the companies that use Flash. Since the Flash technology is not that widely used, the list was not long and most of the companies that did have Flash department could count only a couple of specialists in them. However, we identified every single Flash specialist in Bulgaria that met the requirements of the position and established contacts with them.
To reach the prospective candidates and to make a background check we gathered information through multiple channels – personal IT blogs, forums, LinkedIn profiles, personal meetings with freelancers, etc. In less than a week we managed to compile profiles for all the candidates on our short list and to cross-reference them though our network of contacts.
Another crucial step in bringing the search to a successful end was the payment level survey that we conducted parallel to the recruitment process. We found out that the remuneration announced by Playtech was not competitive and recommended the client to update the financial component of their offer to applicants.
In result, we ended up with three specialists who completely covered Playtech’s needs. As a matter of fact the candidates we submitted to Playtech were so proficient and motivated that – encouraged by the quality of the submissions - the company decided to take on the opportunity and further the expansion of its RIA development team.
Ultimately, Playtech recruited 3 Flash developers over a period of three months, which actually doubled the RIA dedicated resource of the company. Before turning to our services Playtech has been looking to recruit RIA Flash developers for three years and got 6 submissions altogether. For three months we were able to deliver some 10 submissions, 3 of which received offers and were hired.
